Motion of no confidence:
• A motion of no confidence means that "a person(s) in a position of responsibility is no longer deemed fit to hold that position". In the current scenario, it would mean that that the Puducherry Assembly no longer has confidence in Chief Minister Mr. Narayanasamy.
• The Indian constitution does not mention no-confidence, however Article 75 specifies that the council of ministers shall be collectively responsible to the House of the People.
• As per the constitutional provision {Article 239AA (6)} regarding the collective responsibility of the Council of Ministers to the Legislative Assembly a motion of no confidence can be moved against the Council of Ministers headed by CM.
