The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings, 2019 was released by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MoHRD).
In-Details :-
- NIRF ranks higher education institutions across the country.
- As per the 2019 rankings, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras was adjudged the best in the country.
- It was followed by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru and IIT-Delhi.
- While seven IITs feature in the top 10 list, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi and Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi occupied the rest of the places.
Parameters :-
- The rankings are released after measuring each institute for the following parameters:
- Teaching, learning, and resources
- Research and professional practice
- Graduation Outcomes
- Outreach and inclusivity
- Perception of the public
- A total of 3127 institutions applied for the rankings framework.
- The MoHRD has been releasing the rankings since 2016.
